Portraits of 12 emerging Bay Area, CA artists in their stuidios

Space in the Bay Area is a limited resource and we pay a premium for it. Although the prohibitive cost of living here affects a broad range of people this project is inspired by the question of what it means for an emerging artist to keep a studio space or art practice here.

Over the past year or so I’ve been visiting with a handful of artists in their studios to get to know them and their work and to take their portraits using 35mm film. This is the first issue of what I intend to be an annual publication and I hope it serves to acquaint you with these creative people and spaces.
